There are quite a few small bars with TVs that occasionally show sport, but if you take your sport watching seriously you need to get yourself to one of these two sports bars.
Steve’s Bar – My favourite sports bar in Chiang Rai
Also known as Hangover Corner, Steve’s Bar is the best place in town to watch live sport.
It’s only a small bar, but it always has a great atmosphere. Even though it’s small, there are loads of TVs and they can put on anything you want! English Football, Aussie Rules, NRL, F1, rugby and anything else you can think of is available at this sports bar in Chiang Rai.
It’s a biker bar for the local club, but don’t let that put you off, it still has a fun and friendly atmosphere. And who knows, if your confidence has grown on two wheels after renting a scooter in town, maybe you can become the newest member of the gang.
Steve’s Bar is open from 13:00 to 01:00 every day of the week.

Next up on my list of the best places in Chiang Rai to watch sport is O’Kane’s Irish Pub.
This is one of the most popular bars in the city, and that’s not only because it serves the best Guinness for miles.
If you’re feeling homesick and need some comfort food, O’Kane’s is the place to go. The food menu has classics like fish & chips and pie & mash. But if that feels like the last thing you want to eat while watching the match fear not, they have a great selection of Thai food too.
While O’Kane’s is primarily an Irish Pub, it can still be classed as a sports bar in Chiang Rai. That’s because there are two screens inside which show pretty much any sport you want. That seems to be the way of things in Chiang Rai, and most of Thailand, the bars have access to every sport channel in the world.
If you fancy playing some sport too, you can, because they have a pool table inside that’s free to play.
It’s open from 09:30 to 00:30 seven days a week. Making it the best sports bar in Chiang Rai for breakfast.
