The 3 Best Sports Bars in Phuket Town
If you can’t be bothered learning why I’ve chosen the three that I have and just want to know the names of the best ones and where to find them, this is for you:
- Anfield Cafe – Best for European Football
- Cue Bar – The Classiest sports bar in Phuket Town
- Michel Angelo’s Bar – Italian-American diner
They, my friends, are the best places to watch live sport in Phuket Town. If you want to know why that is, and what’s different about them I suggest reading on for a minute or two.
Ultimate guide to the best places to watch live sport in Phuket Town
Here’s the extra info to help you decide which sports bar is best for you.
Anfield Cafe – Best English sports pub
Let’s start with my favourite: Anfield Cafe. Usually, I’m all for bigger is better when it comes to sports bars in Asia, but even though there are only a couple of screens in Anfield Cafe I still love it.
It definitely helps that its main focus is the English Premier League and European competitions, as that’s my sport of choice. And even with its name, the bar is welcoming to all football fans. There’s memorabilia from all the main clubs dotted around, even Man Utd, although I doubt many hardcore United fans would step into a sports bar named after their arch-rivals!
It does show every other kind of sport too, so if you’re looking for somewhere to watch NRL, AFL or any other sport, I recommend trying Anfield Cafe first, as you’ll have a great time there.
Along with the live sport on TV, Anfield Cafe is also worth a visit for its amazing food and live music.
Opening times: 17:00 – 02:00
Address: Yaowarad Rd, Tambon Talat Yai, Phuket 83000, Thailand
Cue Bar – A classy option
Next up on my list is Cue Bar. Here we have a shiny, modern sports bar, in the heart of town.
There are four big screen TVs which can show different sports simultaneously. If they’re not showing what you want to watch, don’t be shy, just ask behind the bar and they’ll put it on if they can.
There’s also a pool table, which is probably in the best condition I’ve ever seen a pool table in on my travels. So if you want a full sports experience you can play pool while watching sport on TV in this bar.
Head upstairs to enjoy the sunset on a rooftop terrace with views all over the town. Unfortunately, there’s no screen up here to watch the sport. But the view’s a great half-time filler.
If you’re feeling peckish there’s a really good food menu with a mix of Western and Thai dishes. So, if you’d prefer to watch a match while enjoying a classy dinner, this is the place for you.
Opening times: 17:00 to 00:00. Closed on Mondays.
Address: 94 Phangnga Rd, Tambon Talat Yai, Phuket 83000, Thailand
Michel Angelo’s Bar – American diner showing live sport
The third best sports bar in Phuket Town is Michel Angelo’s Bar. This bar is more of an Italian-American diner than a dedicated sports bar, but if you don’t fancy either of the other two, this is a good spot to watch live sport on TV..
There are three big screen TVs which show sport all day long. Again, if you can’t see the game you want to watch just ask the staff and they’ll do what they can to help you.
As you’d expect from an Italian-American diner, the food menu is taken seriously, so you can be sure of a delicious bite to eat while watching the game on TV.
There’s also live music on pretty much every night too. Sometimes it will clash with the sport, meaning you’ll listen to the band while watching the game on mute. Not ideal if you want the full sports-watching experience, but not the end of the world.
Opening times: 14:00 to 02:00
Address: 12 Takuapa Rd, Tambon Talat Nuea, Phuket 83000, Thailand
