Sports Bars in Dalat 2024

Dalat isn’t loaded with options when it comes to watching live sport on TV. But fear not, if there’s a game you desperately need to watch while travelling through Vietnam’s chilly mountain paradise it’s still possible. So here’s you’re quick guide to sports bars in Dalat.

The Best Sports Bars in Dalat (Or should I say the best bar)

Two things I love are travelling and football. So it’s no surprise that I write more about sports bars around the world than anything else. Often I’m spoiled for choice of where to watch the match, but occasionally you find yourself in a sleepy city like Dalat and you need to search for those big screen TVs. But 99 times out of 100, you’ll find them!

Down Under DalatThe Only Proper Sports Bar in Dalat

This is the only option I found in the whole of Dalat that I can confidently call a sports bar. Down Under Dalat is the bar in the Hana Dalat Hotel. It’s not a big bar but it most definitely is a sports bar!

For such a narrow bar it’s very impressive how they squeeze six TV screens and two projectors onto both walls. It really is wall-to-wall sport like you’ve never seen before. Four of the TV screens are connected meaning that they can show four different sports simultaneously or link them together to make one mega-screen to show one thing. At times it’s like a Minority Report of live sport.

As you’d expect with a sports bar with so many screens they show every kind of sport you could hope for. Of course, European football, especially the English Premier League is given preferential treatment.

If you’re looking for the best sports bar in Dalat to watch the Rugby Six Nations, this is my recommendation.

But, don’t worry my Australian cousins, your sports are just as popular here. It is called Down Under Dalat after all. So NRL, AFL and Aussie Rules are always given the projector treatment.

Fancy a lock-in?

The bar’s official opening times are 16:00 – 22:00, but from talking to the staff I was told that if there was a big match, race or fight taking place out of hours they would often stay open for it. So if boxing or UFC are your thing it’s worth popping by or contacting them to see if they’ll be showing it.

As well as all the sport, there’s plenty of cheap beer on offer, happy hour is from 16:00 – 18:00, along with tasty local and western food to get you through a sports-watching session.

So, if you’re looking for sports bars in Dalat, Down Under is your best (and pretty much only) option.

Opening times: 16:00 – 22:00

Sports Bars in Dalat for playing not watching

So, now that we’ve come to the end of the extensive list of sports bars in Dalat for watching sport, all one of them, here’s where you can play some sport with a beer.

Arsenal Family – The home of e-sports in Dalat

I was sure I’d found another proper sports bar when I stumbled across Arsenal Family. The worst I feared was that it would be wall-to-wall Arsenal TV, but at least they’d show some football. But no, Arsenal Family is actually a video game arcade and shows no live sport on TV.

Xù Billiards – Pool tables galore

If you fancy playing pool for an hour or two and don’t want to have to socialise or play winner stays on, head to Xù Billiards. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any TVs showing live sport. Hopefully, they will realise that their cool pool hall would be greatly improved with some footy on TV.

I know it’s not exactly a sports bar in Dalat, but, when you’ve only got one proper option in the whole city I want to give you something else sports related….(and make sure my post isn’t too short….but don’t tell Google that bit!)

A moment please for the sports bars we’ve lost 🙁

I found it really surprising, that in early 2024 I was only able to find one sports bar in Dalat. The last time I visited the city a few years ago, I’m sure I found it easy to watch live sport on TV, but as with many places in this part of the world, COVID-19 was a business killer.

I’m sure there will be more sports bars popping up in Dalat this year, if you find one, give me a holla and I’ll get them added to this post to spread the good word.

Looking for more things to do in Dalat?

Apart from hunting for sports bars what else should you be doing in Dalat? Firstly, if you’re confident too, you should rent a motorbike and explore the local surroundings. Here’s my guide to get riding in 2024.

For all other things here’s my guide to all the good and great things in Dalat.

Enjoy.

I’m not really a stickman, but it seems that I like portraying myself as one.

I’m an English guy who’s been travelling since 2017. I was never good at taking photos, sketching just seems to work better for me, and in my opinion, why do you want to see other people’s 4K videos and pictures of the world? Surely it’s better to see it for yourself. You can get in touch through the contact page or Instagram.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Happy travelling.
