Where to Watch Live Football in Arnhem: Best Sports Bars for 2024
If you’re looking for a spot to watch a match in Arnhem, the options aren’t exactly endless. But as the saying goes, it’s all about quality over quantity. While there are only two sports bars here worth mentioning, both are solid choices for any football fan and offer a great atmosphere for watching the big game. After trying them both, I can confidently say these two are all you need.

Cafe ‘t Huys
– 7 Screens of Football Action
Cafe ‘t Huys has become my go-to spot for watching football in Arnhem, and it’s easy to see why. The main draw for me? It has seven screens, which is a lifesaver when you’re juggling a Premier League match at the same time as an Eredivisie game. The locals here are serious about their football, especially when it comes to their home league, so don’t expect every screen to be dominated by English football like in some other parts of the world. You’ve got to earn your Premier League viewing rights here!
I’ll never forget the first time I walked in, asking the Viking-esque barman if I could catch the Liverpool match. He didn’t even flinch—just led me to a cozy corner and set me up with my own screen. Once the Dutch game ended, he switched all the screens to my match and even adjusted the commentary. That’s the kind of service you don’t forget.
Located in the corner of Korenmarkt Square, Cafe ‘t Huys is perfectly situated for post-match celebrations (or consolations). You’re only a few steps away from the heart of Arnhem’s nightlife scene. And if you’re planning an all-day sports-watching marathon, this place has you covered with opening hours from 12:00 to midnight on Sundays.
What makes Cafe ‘t Huys stand out isn’t just the number of screens—it’s the beer selection, the friendly service, and the affordable prices. For me, it’s the best sports bar in Arnhem, hands down.

Irish Pub Mick O’Connells
– The Best Guinness in Town
If you’re someone who prefers the cosy, traditional feel of an Irish pub, then Mick O’Connells is where you’ll want to be. I’ve had plenty of nights here enjoying a pint of Guinness, Magners, and even the occasional packet of Tayto crisps while catching a match. The dark wood interior and well-worn chairs give it that familiar Irish pub vibe that makes you feel like you’ve just stepped into a pub in Dublin.
One thing to note though: the beer here is pricier than the local spots, even if you’re sticking to Grolsch. That’s pretty standard for Irish or British pubs abroad, but it’s a small price to pay for the homely atmosphere. Plus, there’s a decent food menu if you fancy something a bit more substantial than crisps—think sandwiches and chips rather than gourmet meals, but it hits the spot.
When it comes to watching sport, there are three big screens, but they all usually show the same game at any given time. This can be a bit tricky if you’re hoping to catch both a Premier League and Eredivisie match. The staff are friendly, but not always the most knowledgeable about handling multiple games at once. I had to explain how to switch screens for an EPL match once, but with a little guidance, they managed it.
The best place to eat and watch the match
This is also the best option if you want to tuck into some bready beige delights while watching the match because they have a decent food menu to accompany that bag of Taytos. Don’t expect fillet steak, but the chips and sandwiches will do you well.
The best part? If you swing by and they’re not showing your game, you can just walk 30 seconds across the square to Cafe ‘t Huys and try your luck there. You really can’t go wrong.

Final Thoughts – The Korenmarkt Square Football Triangle
When it comes to finding a spot to watch live football in Arnhem, it doesn’t get more convenient than Korenmarkt Square. With Cafe ‘t Huys and Mick O’Connells just steps away from each other, you’ve got two solid options to catch your game. And if you’re looking for a change of pace after the match, the nearby Cafe Arnhem offers a vibrant atmosphere, with a huge terrace, fantastic cocktails, and some of the best food in town.
So, whether you’re a local or just passing through, this square is your one-stop destination for football, beers, and a good time.
