Where to hire an e-scooter in Gran Canaria

Now that you know what price you can rent an e-scooter for, let’s look at where you should go to get your hands on the best electric scooters in Gran Canaria.

The best place to rent an electric scooter in Las Palmas

I just gave you the cheapest prices I found in Gran Canaria for e-scooter rental. They all came from Rental Bike Station Las Palmas 24, I think they’re the best place to rent an electric scooter in Las Palmas.

They don’t offer delivery to your hotel so you will need to visit the store in person. It’s located in the heart of the city, so it’s very easy to get to. Here’s a link to the exact location on Google Maps.

Rental Bike Station Las Palmas 24 will also ask for an €80 security deposit with every rental. We had to pay this when we rented an electric scooter from then and I’m happy to say the process was all very trustworthy and we got the deposit back with no problems whatsoever.

Don’t forget to get a helmet

So if you’re up in Las Palmas and fancy zipping around on an e-scooter, check out Rental Bike Station Las Palmas 24.

If you’re travelling in peak season and find that Rental Bike Station has rented out all of its e-scooters, I have a plan B for you. Love Gran Canaria Shop also offer electric scooter rental in Las Palmas. Their prices aren’t as good but they’re a good backup plan. Especially as they will deliver to you anywhere on the island.

Best electric scooter rental in Playa del Ingles, Maspalomas

If you’ll be spending your holiday down in Playa del Ingles in the popular Maspalomas area of Gran Canaria I have a great option for you if you fancy hiring an e-scooter to zip up and down the beach roads.

Scooter and Bike Rental offers two different electric scooters and they rent them out at very good prices.

The cheapest option, known as XIAOMI MI PRO2 to its friends, is yours to rent at these prices:

  • 3 hours €20
  • 1 day €25
  • 2 day €50
  • 1 week €110

The higher spec e-scooter, the NIU KQI3, costs on average €5 per day more than the above prices. You can check out more about this e-scooter here.

Scooter and Bike Rental are located in the heart of Maspalomas, here’s a link to their exact location on Google Maps.

Best e-scooter hire in Gran Canaria delivered to your hotel

If you’re not staying in one of the more popular areas of the island but still want to rent an electric scooter in Gran Canaria you can.  Love Gran Canaria Shop offers e-scooter rental and will deliver one to your hotel or apartment for a €20 delivery fee.

Guided electric scooter tour in Gran Canaria

If you fancy something more structured than just getting on an electric scooter and zipping back and forth, you should look at the tour available on Get Your Guide.

The shortest tour they offer is for two hours, but they also have seven-day tours. That’s because they don’t offer a tour guide, you’re free to roam about, but included in the price they give you a map and also access to an app that plans out a route for you depending on the tour you book.

Most of the tours are located around the south of Gran Canaria, taking in sights such as Playa del Ingles, Maspalomas, and Meloneras Beach.

You can check out the prices of the tours here

Best 2-seater e-scooters for hire in Gran Canaria

It’s not only electric ‘kick start’ scooters that you’ll see people zooming around on in Gran Canaria. Another very popular means of transport on the island is the chopper Scooter.

The chopper is more motorbike than a start scooter, meaning that you and a passenger can sit down while riding.

If you want to check out this alternative to electric scooter hire in Gran Canaria I recommend you look at what the guys at Viator are offering. You can book your rental online with Viator, but if you prefer to go to a store to check them out you should go to G & S Scooter Rental

You can book online with them, or here is the link to their location on Google Maps.

The rules to know before renting an electric scooter

It’s important to remember that even though many suppliers will call them kick-start scooters, these machines are not toys. There have been plenty of instances of serious e-scooter accidents in recent times so you really should be careful when riding around.

One official source states that:

The use of electric kick Scooters in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is restricted similar to the use of bicycles. You have to comply with the common traffic rules. You cannot drive on the pavement and cannot limit pedestrians in their movement. Electric scooters are restricted to one single person. The driver/renter is fully responsible for any accident, damages and theft during his rentals duration.

So, let’s break that up a little into more simple terms.

electric scooter hire gran canaria
  • Only one person can ride on an electric scooter.
  • You have to follow the local traffic laws.
  • Don’t ride on the pavement
  • You’re liable for any damages etc
  • Don’t drink and ride
escooter hire mallorca
Don’t drink and ride an e-scooter. It never ends well.

The last point does depend on who you rent your electric scooter from in Gran Canaria. Some will offer insurance for an extra fee or will take a deposit upfront to cover any problems.

Another benefit of booking your e-scooter rental in Gran Canaria from Viator or taking the guided tour option with Get Your Guide, they both include insurance in the standard price. So if you want to play it all as safely as possible you should give them a second look.
