Best Sports Bars in Las Palmas
If you’re up in the bright lights of Las Palmas, here are the best bars to watch live sports.
Paddy’s Anchor – The No1 Sports Bar in Las Palmas
This is my favourite sports bar in Gran Canaria. Yes, I really did visit all six on this list, and when it comes to what I’m looking for from a sports pub, Paddy’s Anchor has got it.
Most importantly there are loads of TVs. There are screens in every corner of this sports bar, so you’ll always have a good view of the match. Because there are so many TVs, it means that they can show different sports at the same time, making the 3 o’clock Saturday kick-offs a dream for football lovers!
The drinks menu is all good. Everything you want is on it and is well-priced. There’s a food menu too, but it’s just snacks like sandwiches and nachos. You get free nuts with your beer too.
When the football stops this sports bar changes to a live music and karaoke bar. You can play a bit of sport here too as there’s a pool table and darts board for punters to enjoy.
Address: C/ Sagasta, 66, 35008 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Opening times: 12:00 – 02:00
The Irish Rover – The best Guinness in town
This is a cosy little Irish pub with three screens that show EPL, La Liga and SPL games. If the game you want to watch isn’t on when you arrive, just ask them and if they can, they will put it on for you.
My favourite thing about his pub is that it serves the best Guinness in town. I can’t do that for sure because trying to drink a Guinness in every bar in Gran Canaria in six days would be the craziest bar crawl ever. It pours the best Guinness out of all the sports bars in Gran Canaria on this list. Fact!
If you’re looking for the best sports bar in Gran Canaria to watch the Euros, this is my recommendation.
Another bonus is that it’s open until 04:00 at weekends and 03:00 during the week.
Address: C. Galileo, 3, 35010 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas, Spain
Opening times: 16:00 – 04:00
The Captain 13
Last on the list of the best sports bars in Las Palmas is The Captain 13. This is more of a local bar, but they still show UK sport too, it’s just that La Liga games usually take priority over anything else. But as they have a few screens and a big projector there’s usually a screen or two for us tourists to watch our leagues too.
Along with a very extensive drinks menu, there’s also a good snack menu too. You can see it all here.
Address: C. Fernando Guanarteme, 63, 115, 65 km, 35010 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Opening times: 18:00 – 02:00
Best Sports Bars near Playa del Ingles, Maspalomas
If you’re down on the sunny south coast on Playa del Ingles, here are the best football pubs around to watch the match.
J.A. Sports & Friends – The best in Maspalomas
This is easily the best in Maspalomas. If you’re down in Playa del Ingles and want to know the best place to watch the match, get yourself to J.A. Sports & Friends.
As you’d expect from one of the best sports bars in Gran Canaria, there are loads of screens, including one huge TV out on the sunny front terrace. It’s in the heart of Playa del Ingles so is a great spot for people watching when there’s no sport on.
Along with loads of TVs showing live sports, there’s a decent food menu with more than just snacks.
Address: Av. de Tirajana, 21, 35100 San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Las Palmas, Spain
Opening times: 12:00 – 00:00
Sportsbar Game On – The new kid on the block
Here is a new sports bar on the block. Sportsbar Game On has only been around for a short time, but it’s already building a reputation as one of the best new sports bars on the island.
Sportsbar Game On isn’t a big bar but there are still plenty of screens showing all the football you can think of, including any English game you want to watch. And the owner will happily put on whichever game you want.
Address: Av. de Alemania, 35100 Maspalomas, Las Palmas, Spain
Opening times: 11:00 – 01:00
The 19th Hole – The sports bar on the beach
Last but by no means least on my list is The 19th Hole. It’s the only beachside sports bar on this list, but this is no beach hut bar, it’s a serious sports bar, with 15 TVs including one 80-inch screen.
With that many TVs, it’s no surprise that you can watch any match you want in this sports bar. It’s a modern chic bar with a huge terrace overlooking the ocean. It has a great view too because it is on the 2nd floor, above a shopping centre.
Address: Centro Comercial Varadero, Segunla planta, local A173, 35100 Meloneras, Las Palma
Opening times: 11:00 – 02:00

About the author – The Sketchy Traveller
I’m not really a stickman, but it seems that I like portraying myself as one.
I’m an English guy who’s been travelling since 2017. I was never good at taking photos, sketching just seems to work better for me, and in my opinion, why do you want to see other people’s 4K videos and pictures of the world? Surely it’s better to see it for yourself. You can get in touch through the contact page or Instagram.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Happy travelling.
